Corruption rating improved in 2008 vs 2007

According to 2008 CORRUPTION PERCEPTIONS INDEX published by Transparency International, Moldova improved its position in 2008 (109th) compared to 2007 (111th).

Corruption rating better compared with Russia and Ukraine but worse compared with Turkey, Romania, Bulgaria

Moldova's corruption rating remains worse compared with neighboring EU countries and Turkey - Romania (70th), Bulgaria (72th), Turkey (58th), but much better than its key CSI partners Russia (147th) and Ukraine (134th)
